A front-end equipment for an excavator, comprising a heavy boom, dipper arm and bucket. Chiefly used against a bank or face, the bucket being forced upwards through the earth and away from the machine, and being emptied after traversing the boom.

Pièce d'équipement installée à l'avant d'une excavatrice, formée d'une flèche et d'un godet chargeur-butte fixé à l'extrémité de cette dernière. Utilisée principalement pour creuser à flanc de coteau (montagne, falaise, etc.) ou de berge; le godet est rempli par un mouvement de creusage du bas vers le haut, lequel l'éloigne de l'excavatrice, et est vidé après que la flèche ait été déplacée par pivotage latéral de l'excavatrice.
